Position Summary

The 2nd shift Production Supervisor will support the 1st shift Production Supervisor in overseeing daily operations within all departments on night shift. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in metal stamping processes and tool and die making, along with strong leadership and communication skills. The successful candidate will help ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality and safety standards. 

Duties

  • Assist in supervising daily production activities and ensure that production schedules are met efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the 1st shift Production Supervisor to plan, coordinate, and monitor workflow. Communicate with all Departmental Supervisors via email, photos and annotations through a daily status report.
  • Provide guidance and training to production team members on best practices in metal stamping and tool and die operations.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and tools to ensure proper functioning and maintenance.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate production records and report on key performance indicators and non-conformance issues.
  • Support the training and onboarding of new team members.
  • Collaborate with quality control to ensure products meet required specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/ GED or equivalent. Additional technical training in manufacturing or a related field is a plus.
  • 10 years manufacturing experience with at least 5 years’ experience in the metal stamping industry. Some supervisory/lead experience preferred.
  • Understand all aspects of performing a set-up including the compatibility of tools to presses.
  • Basic knowledge of tool and die making processes and principles.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead by example.
  • Proficiency in using basic hand tools and measuring equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control standards in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong math skills, organizational skills, computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, ERP System – Plex)
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Good understanding of quality requirements and methodologies.

Hours and Salary

2nd shift 3:30PM - Midnight, M-F; some OT weekdays and weekends

$33 to $44 depending on experience
