Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimating Engineer to join our team in the metal stamping industry. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in accurately estimating costs, ensuring efficient material usage, and preparing quotes for customers. This position requires technical proficiency, strong analytical skills, and exceptional communication abilities.

Job Duties:

  • Generate strip layouts to optimize material usage and estimate tooling costs.
  • Obtain pricing for outside services and material costs from suppliers.
  • Prepare and update detailed cost worksheets to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
  • Collaborate with customers to gather missing information necessary for completing quotes.
  • Create final quotes for customers as required.
  • Conduct research to identify new suppliers and services for competitive sourcing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • Prior estimating experience required, preferably in the metal stamping industry.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Ability to produce flat blanks and generate strip layouts using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Strong math and conceptual skills.

Hours and Salary

  • 1st shift- 7am - 3:30pm, M-F
  • pay range $37-$50 per hour, depending on experience
