Position Summary:
The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for overseeing monthly financial close, cost accounting, fixed asset management, AP, AR and Payroll oversight and account reconciliation. This candidate will bring a deep understanding of manufacturing accounting practices and a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Monthly Financial Closing & Reporting• Lead and coordinate the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close process
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and financial statements
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
Account Reconciliation & Analysis• Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and analysis
Cost Accounting• Maintain and analyze standard cost systems, including BOMs and routings
• Monitor and report on manufacturing variances, inventory valuation, and margin analysis
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate cost allocation
Fixed Asset Accounting & System Maintenance• Manage fixed asset ledger, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals
• Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of capital expenditures
• Maintain fixed asset system integrity and support physical audits
Requirements:
Education - Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required)
Experience - Minimum 5 years of accounting experience. Strong understanding of AR, AP & Payroll
Technical Skills - Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Plex or similar), advanced Excel skills
Soft Skills - Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, leadership ability, and effective communication
Hours and Salary:
- 1st shift - Normal Business Hours
- Pay range $30-$45 per hour, depending on experience
